Dalsland Environmental OfficeAs of January 2007 the environmental offices in Bengtsfors, Dals-Ed, Färgelanda and Mellerud municipalities have joined in a new organization under a new environmental board and are now called Dalsland Environmental Office. Regardless of where each member of our staff is seated he or she may work with environmental issues in any of the four municipalities. We are divided into several teams depending on what type of issues we mainly work with.AdministrationWorks with economy and personnel issues, registrations and board administration. (Kansli) Food SafetyWorks with public health issues such as proper treatment of food and drinking water as well as outbreaks of infectious diseases. (Livsmedel)CountrysideDeals with animal protection and agricultural issues plus oil cisterns and non-municipal sewage treatment in the countryside. (Landsbygd)Health ProtectionWorks with issues that affect human health in our living and working environment, e.g. ventilation, noise, water damage and mildew. (Hälsoskydd)Environmental ProtectionWorks with control and handles permits for certain industries, sewage treatment and pollution etc. (Miljöskydd)Nature ConservationWorks with environmental protection and monitoring, e.g. the effects of liming, often in cooperation with the County Administrative Board. (Naturvård)Environmental StrategyWorks together with the four municipal executive committees on broad environmental issues such as urban planning and local projects.
